Millstone Edge walk from Walks Around Britain

This is a pleasant, short walk at Millstone Edge, in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District, near to the border between South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

Essential Information for our Millstone Edge walk

Route Directions

  • Park along the A6187, or arrive on public transport.


  • Cross over the road, and head up the footpath.


  • Walk past the first quarries on the right.


  • If you want the challenging route, head towards the second quarries, and scramble up the walkway towards the top.


  • If you want the easier way, follow the path round and it will take you higher.


  • Once at the top, simply follow the path back round to meet the A6187, past the Foxhouses Inn, and back to your start.
